October 31, 2005 Shenzhen wins Model City Award
In the race for development of new cities, "Best kept secret" city of Shenzhen has won an important award: SHENZHEN was named one of China's model cities at a national award ceremony in Beijing yesterday. A total of nine cities were selected as China's model cities. This was the first time the title was awarded in China after a nationwide "civilization construction" campaign was launched in the country in early 1980s.
